Heisenberg Fridays - The Secret Of Baby Chicks Revealed!

And no, that’s not a . . . ahem, cheep shot. Hey there, this is the launch of a new feature on my ROI Copy blog You're always certain using ROIcopy!called “Heisenberg Fridays,” named in honor of one of the giants in quantum physics, Werner Heisenberg and his Uncertainty Principle. A Nobel laureate, Heisenberg was one of the founders of quantum mechanics and acknowledged to be one of the most important physicists of the twentieth century.

Once a week, I won’t feel constrained to keep the topic about marketing, sales, advertising or copywriting. I can talk about whatever I want and probably more often than not, it will be about one of my favorite studies — the research into how the mind influences reality.

So while most of the week you’ll be certain of the overall theme of my posts, each Friday that certainty will be removed. You get the picture. I’m either more clever-by-half, or more stupid by two-thirds. You make the call.

But stay with me now, because I’m getting to why you’re reading this.

Are You Certain Enough To Be Un-Certain?

Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle states “The more precisely the position is determined, the less precisely the momentum is known in this instant, and vice versa.”

In other words, while you may be able to measure a subatomic particles location, if you choose to focus on that, then you will not be able to precisely know its speed. Conversely, the more precisely you attempt to measure its speed, the less certain you will be of its location.

    ‘BFD’ and ‘who cares’, right?

This is important because the observer affects any experiment by the mental and physical choices made by the observer (e.g., the way you view your reality). That much is true and I doubt any physicist would disagree.

Got it? I’ll put links at the end so you can read the full version and not just my humble Reader’s Digest, Forrest Gump version.Get the formula for success -- ROIcopy!

So, who cares about subatomic particles and not being able to measure both location and speed? Well, you should. Think about it, what do you think you (the total you — mind and body) and your physical reality is comprised of? Yep, got it in one, Bunky. So listen up, this is important.

This has been proved in the labs and the majority of the public saw that research popularized in films such as “What The Bleep“, “The Secret” and the whole flood of books, DVDs and films that are coming out that follow this thread.

The Secret Of The Bleeping Law Of Attraction

As a scientist and explorer in the ‘mind fields’ I found “What The Bleep” to be more scientific and therefore, more credible. I’ll probably point more often to that film and it’s panel of experts and scientists for that reason. I always tell my clients that “extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof” and in this new realm of how mind can influence matter, that has never been more true than in this case.

“The Secret” on the other hand, has some great special effects but it gets too wild in it’s claims (and in one instance, downright negligent) about the Law Of Attraction. And when you look at the panel of experts — there’s only one scientist, Fred Alan Wolf — the rest are marketers and motivational speakers hawking their products.

And btw, Wolf corrects the record that “The Secret’s producers tried to infer by clever editing (I spotted it, so maybe it’s not-so-clever-editing) regarding the Law Of Attraction. Read what he had to say by clicking here.

Well, doggone it, spent so much time explaining what the Uncertainty Principle is and introducing the new feature that I’ve run out of time to talk about the thing I really wanted to show you. Hopefully you found this at least mildly entertaining and didn’t get bored.

Okay, so next Friday then. I’ll not only show you how the mind of a baby chick is more powerful than yours, but I’ll provide you the scientific research that proves it.

Also interesting is this plain-English version of how the way you observe something collapses its potential:  Consciousness causes collapse.

    Enjoy!

P.S. - In a final good-natured jest and a nod to what he was most famous for, the epitaph on Heisenberg’s tombstone reads, ”He lies somewhere here.” Now that is classy and funny at the same time!
