Is The Quantum Field Star War’s "The Force"?*

“That quantum #$@% you write each week is stupid. I don’t get it.” Grrrr. Count to ten . . . breathe out. Get classic sales prose that fills the coffers -- ROI Copywriting! And pretend I don’t  want to let loose the 5-6 verbal ripostes that my brain is tripping over itself to unleash. The urge is so great, it’s quoting Shakespeare to trick its way out. “Cry havoc . . . and let slip the dogs of war!”

And why is it that whenever it quotes that line (and it does so — often), it also sends me the mental image of Christopher Plummer uttering it at the end of the sixth Star Trek film?

Instead, I decide to practice, in case the State Department calls me to serve as diplomatic ambassador to some low-risk area of the world . . . like Iran. So I say:

“I’ll send you the link to this little film. You like “Star Wars,” right? Well, this short little film perfectly captures the practical applications of quantum science. Let me know what you think.”

An hour later, he was positively bubbling on the other end of the line. “I get it! I think I’ve got it . . .” He went on, but I’ll spare you. I’m happy the scientific method has another convert. Never mind he needed a cartoon to get there.

The Institute of Noetic Sciences created this movie told through the lens of the Star Wars universe. It illustrates how real science, real research and real, measurable results (the perfect scientific trifecta) are throwing a different light on what used to be called “psychic phenomenon.”

Join cartoon versions of Obi-Wan, Luke and young Yoda (can’t be more than 100) on a Jedi’s path towards a more expanded mental paradigm that can triumph over the Dark Side of fixed ways and beliefs.

And now for the Quantum Joke Of The Week

“I just ran over Schrödinger’s cat … he may be dead, he may not be dead. I didn’t look.”

What?! You’ve never heard of the classic “Schrödinger’s cat” thought experiment? Click this link to discover it for yourself.

    Okay, now get the funny?

    Frakin’ Philistines. . .

    And for those who don’t know what a “paradigm” is . . . it’s 20 cents. Kinda like a “paradox” is  . . . yep, 2 M.D.’s.

There you go — a movie and three . . . count ‘em 3 Quantum Jokes to send you on your holiday weekend!

    * = About Heisenberg Fridays. Each Friday’s post will be the one post where I can talk about whatever I want outside of the realms of marketing, sales, advertising or copywriting. More often than not, it will be about one of my favorite studies –  the research into quantum mechanics and how consciousness influences reality.

So for most of the week you’ll be certain of the overall theme of my posts, but each Friday there will be that uncertainty about the topic. Thus my tip of the hat to Werner Heisenberg the creator of quantum mechanics’ Uncertainty Principle.
