Want To Sell More? Talk to Broca*

No, not the man, but that area of the brain that says yea or nay to what you’ll pay attention to, Broca’s Do you have the brains to get ROI Copywriting?Area. How do you like that, you’ve got an area in your brain named after someone else, and a dead guy to boot.

We all know that incorporating multiple sensory elements into your advertising messaging is a powerful way to capture attention, right? But did you know why?

It’s because scientists have discovered that sight and sound activate the Broca’s Area in our brains, and the Broca Area regulates what gets noticed.

But creativity (and this is for you advertising folk) for its own sake is wasted effort if it does not deliver relevant message. So don’t got all Madison Avenue on us.

You want to ping the Broca, while keeping it relevant to your target audience as well.

    * = About Heisenberg Fridays. Each Friday I post about whatever I want outside of the realms of marketing, sales, advertising or copywriting. More often than not, it will be about one of my favorite studies –  the research into quantum mechanics and how consciousness influences reality.

So for most of the week you’ll be certain of the overall theme of my posts, yet each Friday there will be  uncertainty about the topic. Thus my tip of the hat to Werner Heisenberg the creator of quantum mechanics’ Uncertainty Principle.
