Mindjet’s Public Relations Damage Control Machine Revs Up

**We interrupt the regularly scheduled post to bring you this urgent update . . .**

When is too late, too late?

Two days ago Kyle McFarlin hung a cardboard sign around his neck and blogged about how Mindjet’s Senior Trainer,  Matt Mansinne has ignored every professional contact effort for over 7 months. For those late to the party, McFarlin is one of theirbiggest customer evangelists and he can’t even get a call back or an email response.

Yesterday I blogged about this massive misstep.

After 7 months . . . 40 phone calls . . . and 10 emails — now Mansinne crawls out of the woodwork when there’s some public accountability applied.

    Schmuck.

And yesterday, Kyle unleashed an update post. Seems now with the hot glare of the blogosphere’s spotlight on him, Manisnne finally crawled out from under his rock and contacted McFarlin.

    Double schmuck.

Can we actually consider someone to be accountable when they only come to the post when the glare of the public spotlight is on them? Hopefully, Mansinne bosses are taking a long, hard look at this situation.

In his newest post, McFarlin makes some keen observations about Mindjet’s certification history and he devastatingly breaks down the cost of not certifying and ignoring those who wish to get trained and certified (McFarlin is not the first, just the most ingenious about getting press).

Remember what I always say about getting the mule’s attention, first?

Yep, McFarlin had to use the 2×4.

And the Million Mind Mapper March on Mindjet’s San Francisco headquarters led by his Winnebago idea? That too was inspired.

Maybe we can get Tony Bennett to croon “I left my cert(ification) in San Francisco” at the (Ignored) Trainer’s Live Aid concert? Maybe they can all stand outside Mindjet’s HQ with their cardboard signs begging for a little bit of professional courtesy from the Mindjet largess.

Wouldn’t that be a sight on the 6 O’clock News?

Stay hungry and keep angry, man. Again, remember the HP lessons. Just because they talk to you doesn’t mean anything. It’s the actions that count. Always and only.

Okay, the (Ignored) Trainer’s Live Aid Concert is on the top 10 funniest things I’ve ever read list - I nearly fell over.

An update, Mindjet does seem to putting up, more in my latest post:

And they have taken next action steps in the requested areas at the bottom of the blog post, so I’ll move forward, letting ACTION be the measure of the solution.
