Marketing Contrarian Approach - Am I "Too Negative?"

“The method by which you arrive at your conclusions is, if anything, more important than the Postive cash flow with ROI Copywritingconclusion itself.”

You, dear reader may have an opinion about my (alleged) negativity one way or the other. But I’m happy there are at least a couple of people out there who ’gets me’ and what I’m doing and the reason behind why I do things I way I do them.

Read McFarlin’s take on his new silent partners (tongue firmly in cheek), HP.

Frankly, I wish he could do a brain dump for all those out there that think I’m a negative person just because I don’t go the My Little Pony/Rainbow Brite route.

I mean, anyone can give the Pollyanna assessment (most do), simply because they’re afraid to say what they really think, but why is it no one ever does it from an impact perspective?

No new age fluff with ROI CopywritingAnd here’s another thing, whenever I do a “negative” post — Google Analytics shows that my unique visitors, returning visitors and the length of time people spend on my blog and the number of posts they read — goes THROUGH THE ROOF!

And vise-e-vie my examination of the Release Meter’s cascading series of worst practices, the so-called “Releasers” have completely missed the point.

They’re willing to attack my “negativity” while giving a pass to iCAP Technologies who deceived them by selling them beta software at premium, finished product prices.

Like I always say, it’s so unbelievable that you can’t make it up.

And Connie Schmidt (of the lively Whirled Musings blog) weighed in with “I think you’re doing a very good job of presenting “the other side,” and in the process, you are exposing the cynicism, greed and outright incompetence that are all too often elements in Internet marketing.

And since you do in fact believe that the iCAP is (or could have been) a wonderful product, I think you have a lot more credibility on this issue than most people would have.”

    Errr . . . speaking of Rainbow Brite . . . just when did they do a version for grown-ups? Hey, I wasn’t saying it’s necessarily bad to be Rainbow Brite . . . oh hell, never mind . . .
